Description

The Polly Slim Top carries the sharpness of a corset in the sturdiness of gabardine. A square neckline opens up the shoulders; princess seams fit the 100% cotton fabric close to the body without ever gripping it. Black velvet ribbons at the shoulder tips and along the waistline add a rhythmic accent to the plain burgundy surface, and the slit hem at the front lowers the waistline to lengthen the silhouette. An invisible zip at centre front keeps the closure out of sight. On its own on summer evenings, under a blazer or coat in the cooler months: a top for all four seasons that completes the set with the Polly Balloon Mini Skirt.

This piece is produced in a single run of only 20–25 units across all sizes. Every BASAKLA piece is designed in London and sewn one by one by master tailors at our atelier in Istanbul, with couture precision.

In place of a production line, each model is entrusted to master tailors who take on only a limited number of pieces. Every stitch is completed with the patience and precision the craft demands.

What remains unseen: 100% viscose linings, individually finished stitches, and the hours devoted to each piece.
